Frequently asked

Is NetL really free?

Yes. NetL is free to download and free to use, with no subscription, no trial period, and no hidden charges.

Is NetL open source?

No. NetL is free to use, but it is closed-source software built and maintained by Hocnex. Release builds and version notes are published on GitHub Releases, but the source code itself is not published.

Do I need to sign up?

Yes — a free account (name, email, password) is the only step required before you can use NetL. Sign-up takes seconds and never asks for payment details.

I forgot my password. Can I reset it?

There isn't a self-service password reset inside the app yet. In the meantime, email us from the address on your account and we'll help you regain access.

Can I use my account on more than one computer?

An account is active on one device at a time. Signing in on a new device automatically signs the previous one out, and we email you when this happens — if it wasn't you, contact us right away.

NetL doesn't show up as a camera in my calling app. What's wrong?

This is almost always a missing one-time driver setup, not a NetL bug — check the installation steps in our How to Use guide first (a virtual camera driver and virtual audio cable are required alongside NetL itself). More troubleshooting is on the Documentation page.
